European Heritage Days 2022
in Grand Pic Saint-Loup

For the 39th edition of the European Heritage Days, the Communauté de communes du Grand Pic Saint-Loup opens the doors of its sites and museums.

Maison des Consuls, Museum of Arts and Archaeology

This year's theme is Sustainable Heritage, which has a role to play in a more sober and ecological future. By reexamining practices, lessons learned from traditions, and the continuity of know-how, heritage actors (historical monuments, archaeological sites, museums, archives, etc.) are already acting today to strengthen the sustainability of heritage.

For example, heritage professionals favour restorations using reuse and natural materials (stone, wood, earth, etc.), in line with environmental requirements. Heritage also contributes to the revitalisation and economic and tourist development of the territories as well as to the promotion of the know-how present throughout the territory; it also constitutes a resource of local jobs that cannot be relocated.

All these issues are at the heart of the activities proposed by the Halle du Verre in Claret, the Maison des Consuls in Les Matelles, the prehistoric village of Cambous in Viols-en-Laval...
