Œnorando® Between Grès de Montpellier and Pic Saint-Loup

L'Œnorando® between Grès de Montpellier and Pic Saint-Loup

Starting from the winery, hikers will discover a path in the heart of the garrigues, pine forests and vineyards, crossing the wild and majestic landscapes of the Pic Saint-Loup. This loop, of average level, extends over 15 kilometres and lasts about 4 hours. A variant is possible over 10 km and about 3 hours.
The guidebook is available on the shop of the Grand Pic Saint-Loup Tourisme.

OenoRando

With spring-like weather forecast in the middle of October, you can't miss the opportunity to go for a family outing this weekend! Too early to go mushroom picking in the Cévennes, we would like to go for an original walk which would allow the children as well as ourselves to spend a fun and enriching moment: it is all found with a tractor ride at the Domaine de l'Oulivie!

Starting point : Assas (cooperative cellar)

From the car park, behind the cooperative cellar, cross the rue de la Fontaine Haute and turn left. Go up the small road in a wood of holm oaks. Follow the GR® 60 for several kilometres. Go straight on until you reach a track (viewpoint on the Hortus cliff and the Pic Saint-Loup). Take the D 109E3 for 400 m.

Continue on the track opposite, passing under the Lien (D 68). After the tunnel, turn left immediately and continue for 200 m.
Short variant (10 km / 3 h): continue straight ahead on the track for 600 m and join the main route, in the Rang plain.

Path on the right

Leave the track and the GR 60 to follow a path to the right in the woods. Pass in front of the cellar effluent emptying station in the decantation and irrigation basin of the vineyard. Walk along a vineyard (through gates) and then continue straight ahead into the wood. Cross a track and go across a cleared area. Follow a well-marked path to the left.

Saint-Vincent-de-Barbeyrargues

At the entrance to St-Vincent-de-Barbeyrargues, turn right on the Chemin des Crouzettes, then on the Chemin du Poulaillou. At the crossroads (calvary), turn left onto the D109E2 towards Assas. At the end of the village sign, use the cycle track and turn right onto Chemin des Ortes.

Plaine du Rang

Go straight ahead, over a bridge that spans the Lien. Just after, turn left and go down the path towards the Rieu Coullon. Go back up and take the track on the left. Walk 50 m, continue left on a path. Go up on the right to a track, turn left and then straight on.

Turn right onto the track

Turn right onto the track. Walk 150 m and take a path to the left. At an old dry stone hutch, turn right and go down through a holm oak wood. At the crossroads, turn left onto a dirt track through the pines. At the gate, take the path on the left. Further on, pass under the high voltage line.

Assas

At the crossroads, turn left towards Assas (view of the castle). Turn right after the cemetery. Pass the castle and the Romanesque church. Go down rue de la Calade, turn left into rue des Remparts, then right and then left again into rue Saint-Denis. On the left, by the chemin du Lavoir, join the car park.
