Continuing on from the Buèges Valley, the Pontel dry valley leads to the great drovers' track that climbs the Séranne.
From the source of the Buèges, the route starts in the small hilltop village of Pégairolles-de-Buèges with its Romanesque church, medieval tower, picturesque streets and stunning views. The walk then follows the Pontel Valley as far as Mas d'Aubert.
Taking an old drovers' track, the route continues to the Séranne range revealing a succession of glorious landscapes.
With a Natura 2000 listing, the source of the River Buèges draws near. This small tributary of the Hérault rises here, fed by the rainwater that seeps into the limestone.
