Three free historical conferences invite you to discover research and stories related to the history of the Château de Flaugergues and Montpellier.
Discover the life and work of Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
The conference will present the life and work of Pierre-Auguste Renoir "painter of happiness".
It will highlight his extraordinary production of paintings, drawings, watercolors, as well as his struggles and doubts that led him, on several occasions, to change his style.
A comrade in arms with other young painters, he participates with them in the creation of what will soon be called Impressionism.
But Renoir, dissatisfied, seeks, until the end of his life, to find a new form of art that allows him to translate his personal vision of the world made of light and warmth, expressed with an entirely sensual touch.
By Odile Gancédor, art historian.
