"The reach of gazes & imprints of nature"

Paintings & collages

Playing with colour and materials is a vital need for me. On the canvas, everything begins with a gaze: that of an animal — whether a faithful companion or a wild creature — which I seek to bring to life from the very first brushstroke. Then come the landscapes, imbued with memories and emotions, where painting blends with collage to add depth and poetry.

Exhibition opening date to be confirmed at the Grand Pic Saint-Loup Tourist Office - Saint-Clément-de-Rivière.

Marie-Line Grymonprez

Passionate about painting, I have taken classes in several studios since my teenage years. I began at Cour Roland in Jouy en Josas, in the Yvelines, which gave me the opportunity to exhibit at the musée de la Toile de Jouy and at a club in Versailles. I later joined a course based on the Ginette Martenot teaching method. It introduces us to a range of techniques, combining observation with freedom of movement and exploring line, form and colour through a wide variety of themes.

When I moved to the South, I set painting aside to take up patchwork, but my desire to pick up my brushes again led me to join the Atelier Libre de Saint Clément de Rivière. There, I discovered collage as a continuation of my work with fabric.

Since then, I have mainly expressed myself through acrylics and watercolours, incorporating touches of collage. I also enjoy working on portraits and landscapes, adding my own personal touch.

I take great pleasure in painting animals. As soon as their gaze appears on the canvas, the animal comes to life.
