Terre et Mer – Frédéric Leprince exhibits at the Tourist Office
23 September–26 November
Through experimentation and the joy of creating, painting surges forth here as a raw energy. Guided by instinct, the hand recedes, allowing the canvas to come alive. Discover a poetic journey where gesture encounters the mystery of the completed work.
"Terre et Mer"
"Painting has given me great freedom of expression, allowing me to convey my emotions and the world around me. Everything inspires me. I enjoy moving from one technique to another: watercolour, acrylic and oil."
Exhibition opening on 25 September 2026 at 6 pm at the Office de Tourisme du Grand Pic Saint-Loup - Saint-Clément-de-Rivière, in the presence of the artist
Frederic Leprince
Some revelations are born from the obvious. Frédéric Leprince's began with a mark — the furrows traced by the wheels of his wheelchair on wet ground: graphic, precise and alive. An unintended signature of his that the world preserved, and which he decided to claim as his own.
For more than twenty years, Frédéric has practised painting with the quiet discipline of a self-taught artist — watercolour, acrylic and oil. Each is a language he has mastered, a different way of exploring the visible world. But it was by looking down, towards those marks that no one else could leave, that he found his own language.
His tool? His wheelchair. His canvas? The ground. His technique? A whole-body movement that is laid down on the canvas like an improvised score.
