Causse-de-la-Selle

Located a few metres from the Hérault river, on the right bank of the Bertrand dam, the site offers about thirty routes in a dolomitic limestone rich in shapes and colours: the quality of the rock, the beauty of the lines and the setting make you forget the smallness of the place... Sheltered from the wind and in the shade in the middle of the afternoon, the cliff is ideal from the beginning of spring. It is only in the middle of winter that the humidity and the lack of sunlight make the climber flee.

  • 32 routes, difficulty 4 to 8b. Height : 25 m max
  • GPS : 43.80564, 3.66360
  • NB: swimming is formally forbidden upstream of the dam and downstream to the bridge, due to the presence of a hydro-electric structure
  • Climbing guide "Saint-Jean-de-Buèges + Moulin de Bertrand" on sale at the Intercommunal Tourist Office
