Climbing Introduction with Roc'N River
The Hérault gorges offer an ideal terrain for sports climbing. Many natural sites are accessible, allowing climbers of all levels to practice throughout the year. Among them, the Thaurac massif, located above the Roc'N River base, is one of the main climbing sites in the Montpellier region.
The Thaurac guidebook is available for rent at the base, and new routes are regularly updated on the topo-thaurac site.
We also offer supervised outings, for beginners as well as advanced levels, with a state-certified instructor who will guide you to sites suited to your level and desires. You will learn the basics of safety (belaying knots, securing) and progress on limestone walls, whether top-roping or lead climbing.
